The EU policy landscape has been busier than ever, and so has life at Ohana!

Since celebrating our 5th anniversary last October, we not only entered a completely new sector, but established new partnerships, onboarded even more fresh talent and restructured our teams. So we thought that it was time for a new update piece, both to let you know about all these exciting changes and to celebrate our growth.

A Brand New Team Structure

Ohana had been operating as a single team since the very beginning, but with our intense growth both as a business and as a team, it became evident that a new set up was needed. Our talent is now organised into two separate teams: Circularity & Chemicals and Transparency & Supply Chain, although we continue to collaborate as closely as ever.

So let’s take a closer look at these new strategic teams, the value they bring to our clients, and meet the experts that have recently joined us.

Circularity & Chemicals Team

Our Circularity & Chemicals team offers our complete range of public affairs and business readiness services to the textile industry and most recently also to the chemical sector. Led by Rannveig van Iterson, the team has developed a strong footprint in the apparel and footwear space, and expanded its coverage to the entire textile value chain.

New Talent In The Team

As our impact grows, so does our team, and we’re excited to welcome more fresh talent into the Ohana family.

After gaining public affairs experience at both the French national and EU levels across various industries, Clélia joins Ohana as a Junior Consultant, driven by her passion for sustainability and environmental legislation. Her work will be focused on waste, packaging, and chemical regulations, monitoring legislative developments and supporting the elaboration of public affairs strategies within the Circularity & Chemicals team.

Vittorio Casciani – Intern

Our newest intern, Vittorio comes with an expertise in chemical regulations and a solid understanding of the EU regulatory landscape from his internship at the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA). As part of our Circularity & Chemicals team, he will support our work in the areas of eco-design, chemicals, and textiles.

Transparency & Supply Chain Team

Headed by Natalia Yerashevic, our talented Transparency & Supply Chain team specialises in due diligence, social policies, biodiversity, climate, transparency (green claims) and traceability topics – including the Digital Product Passport.

This team places a strong emphasis on the Omnibus Simplification Package across all client work, while also supporting specific transparency and consumer communication efforts. In collaboration with clients and industry stakeholders, such as Good on You and My Climate, our Transparency & Supply Chain team helps with certifications and works with ranking organisations to unpack and engage with evolving legislation.

The team also leads our newly launched Agri-food service offering, and is excited to support organisations aligning with the new EU Vision for Agriculture & Food.

Committed to impact driven work, the Transparency & Supply Chain also manages our collaborations with purpose-led organisations, including Protect Our Winters Europe and, most recently, the European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA).

Francesca Fina – Senior Consultant

With over five years of experience in public affairs and environmental sustainability, Francesca comes with a solid expertise in the fields of agri-food, due diligence, circular economy and waste. As a senior consultant within Ohana’s Agri-food team, she will be focusing on agriculture, food, and supply chain related policies.

Exploring New Horizons And a New Service Range

We’re proud to say that Ohana has become a trusted name in public affairs with a complete service range that goes from legislation monitoring, to strategy development and implementation support.

Nevertheless, our expertise is always growing, and we are now broadening our business readiness services. Combining technical knowledge and technology, we have developed a series of webinars, roadmaps, and e-learning solutions to help SMEs and non-EU suppliers better understand and implement the latest EU policies.

Expanding Our Footprint Within the Textile Industry

We’ve built a strong presence in the apparel and footwear space – and over time, that’s grown into deep, hands-on experience across the entire textile value chain. From materials to manufacturing, brands to recyclers, we support organisations at every stage with the tools they need to stay ahead of evolving EU legislation. Here’s how that is reflected across the value chain:

  • Materials: At the very first level of the chain, we provide public affairs and business readiness support to organisations like Textile Exchange, Organic Cotton Accelerator, Canopy and NZ Merino.
  • Suppliers: Working alongside organisations such as IDH in Ethiopia, we engage with non-EU suppliers to make EU legislation not just easier to understand, but also to comply with, implementation planning.
  • Brand & Retailers: We are proud to partner with organisations of all sizes, providing full public affairs support to giants such as the HM Group and VF Corporation, and developing tailored business readiness webinars for organisations like EOG, SFA, and DMT.
  • Recyclers & Innovators: Closing the loop, our public affairs services already benefit recycling players like Syre, and are now expanding to support innovators – not only preparing them for upcoming legislation, but also ensuring that our policies allow for innovation and reflect industry changes.

Expanding Into Agri-food

Beyond developing new tools to support our clients, Ohana is also exploring new sectors.

As the way we produce and consume food evolves, deeper transformations will be needed to align with the EU’s environmental and climate goals. That’s why, in 2024, we began to expand our focus to the agri-food industry, applying our expertise to support its green transition.

As part of this effort, our experts have recently launched a dedicated Agri-food Newsletter. From legislative updates to political deals, and everything in between, our team will have a detailed analysis delivered straight to your inbox every month.
So if you belong to the agri-food sector, be sure to sign up now and stay on top of all the latest EU news!

Impactful Partnerships To Drive Positive Change

At Ohana, we believe that public affairs should be a force for good, and over the years we have developed strategic partnerships with organisations that make a difference in the world.

Protect Our Winters & 1% For The Planet

Since its foundation in 2019, Ohana has offered pro-bono support via the 1% For The Planet framework. Donating hours equivalent to at least 1% of our annual turnover to vetted environmental organisations, we help amplify their voices in Brussels and create tangible positive change.

Through the framework, we developed a long-standing collaboration with Protect Our Winters (POW) Europe, a community of athletes, scientists and business leaders who advocate for policy change to protect the places and lifestyles they love from climate change. Since 2020, we have supported their advocacy work on several key occasions such as the EU elections and the COP, and on initiatives like POW Europe’s Leadership Summit and 2025 Campaign.

New Agriculture New Generation

As part of our expansion into the agri-food industry, we have also established a partnership to contribute with an organisation in the sector, and we’re excited to be working alongside New Agriculture New Generation (NANG) since January 2025. New Agriculture New Generation is a Greek initiative dedicated to equipping young leaders with the skills and knowledge to navigate the evolving challenges of the agricultural sector.

The Tara Foundation

Ohana also collaborates with the Tara Foundation since we began operating, when we decided to make a donation to the foundation at the end of each year instead of sending gifts to our clients and partners. Since 2022 we have expanded this initiative, making a second end-of-year donation to a selected social impact organisation.

Final Thoughts

We’re convinced that sustainability is only possible through collaboration, so we encourage other organisations to look for ways to amplify their impact, and we are always keen to explore new partnerships. It is our job to challenge the status quo and push for policies that protect both people and the planet.

If you would like to join Ohana’s mission to create positive sustainable change, get in touch. Together we can design the ideal sustainability strategy to help your business thrive and play its part in the EU’s green transition!
